Jerry O. Batley, Jr., MD, FACS,
 specializes in Advanced Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Breast surgeries. He is a graduate of Cornell University Medical College in New York, NY, and completed his General Surgery Residency at Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Batley is also a member of the American Association of Breast Surgeons.

Sallustio Del Re, MD, FCCP received his Doctor of Medicine from Padova School of Medicine in Padova, Italy. He did his internship in internal medicine and was Chief Medical Resident in internal medicine at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Del Re did his fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center – Tufts School of Medicine. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal and Pulmonary Medicine, is Board Eligible, American Board of Internal Medicine in Critical Care and holds an E.C.F.M.G. Certification.

Grace Fiorentino, DO, is a 1997 graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Fiorentino completed her post-graduate training at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, NJ, and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Physicians and the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.

Sara L. Gualtieri, MD, is a 1994 graduate of the Faculty of Medical Science of Catholic University of Santiago of Guayaquil, Ecuador and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Atlantic City Medical Center. Dr. Gualtieri is Board Certified in internal medicine.

William E. Hooper, MD, is a 1974 graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Rodger Williams General Hospital in Providence, R.I. Dr. Hooper is Board Certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the New Jersey Medical Society, the Atlantic County Medical Society and a former member of the American Society of Internal Medicine.

Howard M. Karp, DO, FACP, has practiced internal medicine in our community since 1974 and is Board Certified by the National Osteopathic Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a graduate of Andrew Taylor Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in nephrology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. Dr. Karp, a past president of the Medical Staff at Shore Medical Center, serves as Chairman of Shore’s Department of Medicine and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and is an active member of the Medical Staff Executive Committee.

David P. May, MD, FACS, specializes in Minimally Invasive, Oncologic and Breast surgeries. Dr. May has instructed other practicing surgeons in advanced laparoscopic hernia repair techniques He graduated as a member of the AOA Honor society from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia where he completed his General Surgery Residency as Chief Resident. Dr. May is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgery, Medical Society of New Jersey and Society of Laparo-endoscopic Surgeons.

James J. O’Connor III, MD comes to Shore Physicians Group from Atlantic Shore Pulmonary and Sleep Associates. A graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. O’Connor did his internship in internal medicine and was the Chief Medical Resident in the internal medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He did his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. O’Connor has certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine Boards, Critical Care Medicine Boards, as well as the American Board of Sleep Medicine.

Mohit Sood, DO, comes to Shore Physicians Group and the Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he completed a Fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery as the program’s Chief Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellow. He has trained with world-class surgeons at leading tri-state medical centers including Jefferson University Hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Westchester Hospital/New York Medical College, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Reading Hospital.

Dr. Sood is a graduate of the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Angelo Sparagna III, MD, DABFP, is a family medicine physician who has been practicing in our community for more than 30 years. Dr. Sparagna is a 1974 graduate of The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Newark, and completed his family medicine residency at Hahnemann Hospital. He has maintained Board Certification in family medicine since 1977. He is the former Vice President of Medical Affairs and a former Board member at Shore Medical Center.

James A. Wilson II, MD, FACOG, received his Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He did his internship in obstetrics and gynecology and was Chief Resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, with preceptorships in endocrinology and infertility, gynecological oncology and pathology. Dr. Wilson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
