Located at 649 Shore Road in Somers Point, the Shore Physicians Group General and Vascular Surgery office is located prominently at the northwest corner of Shore Road and New York Avenue. It is across the street from Shore Medical Center as well as CJ’s Corner Grill. Ample parking is available adjacent to the red brick office building.

Minimally Invasive Procedures

At Shore Physicians Group, we offer minimally invasive procedures for operations such as laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair and laparoscopic ventral/incisional hernia repair. Many other procedures are also performed with a minimally invasive approach such as stereotactic and ultrasound guided breast biopsy. All of these procedures are superior in that there is less pain, less scarring and a much quicker recovery.

Vascular Surgery

Vascular surgeons are specialists who are highly trained to treat diseases of the vascular system. Your blood vessels -- arteries carrying oxygen-rich blood and veins carrying blood back to the heart -- are the roadways of your circulatory system. Without smoothly flowing blood, your body cannot function. Conditions such as hardening of the arteries can create “traffic jams” in your circulatory system, obstructing the flow of blood to any part of the body.

A vascular surgeon does far more than surgery. A vascular surgeon makes sure patients with vascular health issues know and understand all their options. In short, vascular surgeons can do surgery, but they see and treat many patients who don’t require surgery. Vascular surgeons will talk to you about how exercise, diet and medication can be the first steps in regaining your health.

The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accredits imaging facilities and hospitals specific to vascular testing. IAC accreditation is a means by which facilities can evaluate and demonstrate the level of patient care they provide.
