Shore Physicians Group Welcomes Jennifer Erskine, MD, MSIS, as Director of SPG Hospitalists

erskineShore Physicians Group (SPG) announced today that Dr. Jennifer Erskine, MD, MSIS, has joined its group as director of its hospitalist program at Shore Medical Center. As director, Dr. Erskine will oversee SPG Hospitalists and work closely with primary care, specialist and emergency department staff as well as nursing homes and post-acute rehabilitation facilities to ensure an excellent continuum of care for all patients.

Throughout her career spanning more than 15 years as a hospitalist physician, Dr. Erskine has interacted with top management in problem solving and training and mentoring physicians.  Additionally, her background in medical informatics gives her a deep understanding of IT-based innovations in healthcare and formulating workflow maps and information system development and implementation.  She has championed numerous clinical quality improvement projects and hospital-wide IT system implementations, and has a strong commitment to improved continuity across the full spectrum of SPG service to patients.

Dr. Erskine comes to Shore Physicians Group most recently from Capital Health in Trenton and Hopewell, NJ, where she served as a hospitalist physician providing attending supervision of residents hospital-wide, including in the Medical ICU and Stroke Unit.  Prior to that, both at  University Medical Center of Princeton and at Temple University Health System, she held positions as physician advisor to the medical staff and clinical lead for IT system implementations in addition to her clinical patient care responsibilities.

Dr. Erskine received her MD from MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine and her Master’s in Information Systems and Fellowship in Medical Informatics from Drexel University. She holds a board certification in internal medicine with a specialty certification in hospitalist medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Environmental Studies with a concentration in Women’s Studies from Emory University.
