Shore Physicians Group Welcomes Ravi Yangala, M.D., D.M., and Debuts New Somers Point Neurology Practice
Shore Physicians Group (SPG) is pleased to announce the addition of neurologist Ravi Yangala, M.D., D.M., to its diverse roster of exceptional providers. Dr. Yangala has teamed up with David Roeltgen, M.D., to lead SPG’s new Neurology Division, located at 52 E. New York Ave. in Somers Point.
Together, Drs. Roeltgen and Yangala provide care for a variety of neurological conditions to adult patients, including headaches, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, seizures and other disorders of the nervous system.
“We are always looking to add new providers and specialties that reflect the specific healthcare needs of our community,” said SPG Chief Administrative Officer Mark Stephens. “Not only do Drs. Roeltgen and Yangala possess years of extensive experience, they have a passion for providing the compassionate, patient-centered care that SPG is known for.”
Dr. Yangala is Board Certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Stroke and Vascular Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His training included a residency in internal medicine at Staten Island University Hospital and in neurology at SUNY, Stony Brook University Hospital. He also completed fellowships in Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG and EMG) at Wayne State University Hospital in Detroit, MI and at SUNY, University Hospital of Brooklyn in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Yangala, who has practiced in Atlantic County for the past eight years, previously served as Assistant Professor of Neurology and Director of the Epilepsy Unit at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. He has also served as Director of the Neurology Division at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where has also been a member of the teaching faculty for Internal Medicine.
Dr. Roeltgen is Board Certified in Neurology, Headache and Facial Pain by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the National Board of Medical Examiners and the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. His training included residency in Neurology at The Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA and a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
Previously, Dr. Roeltgen served Director of the Headaches Program at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, and as Director of the Headache and Dementia programs at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on conditions related to his field, with his most recent topics including conditions affecting reading and writing, neurological complications of tumors of the heart and genetic influences on brain structure.
